Character History of Ella Cassadine/Alexandria Cassadine

     Alexandria was born to Kristin Bergman and Mikkos Cassadine in the country of Italy.  She was the couples second daughter.  Alexandria was very close to her older sister Natasha.

     One night, has Natasha and Alexandria played, Helena came to their house.  She demanded that she see the bastard children that her husband had produced.  Kristin did everything to protect her two young daughters.  Natasha and Alexandria watched in horror as their mother was brutally killed in front of their young eyes.

     Helena took the two girls and brought them back to the small Greek island that the Cassadines owned.  Helena introduced the two young girls to Stefan and Stravos and told them that they were their cousins and not to get too attached to them since she had plans for them, especially Alexandria. 

     Stefan took the two girls under his wings.  Stravos hated Natasha right away but found Alexandrias bluntness an endearing trait.  Alexandria would spend 18 months on the island before Helena came for her in the dead of the night and stole her from Natashas grip. 

     Alexandria was then shipped off to the United States.  Her name was changed to Ella Richmond.  She was placed with a young woman and was forced to answer to the name Ella or Ellie.  She was forced to call the woman mother.  Before long, Ella had forgotten that she was once Alexandria.

     When Ella was seven, her mother took her to Port Charles, saying they were going to meet with her father.  When they arrived, her mother took her to see Luke Spencer, explaining to him that a one-night stand the two had, had produced Ella.

     Luke had no choice but to accept Ella as his daughter when her mother was mugged and killed two days after arriving.  Luke and his soon to be wife Laura loved Ellie with all their heart.  The two soon got married but then Laura was kidnapped.  She returned a year later and her feelings had changed for Ella.

      The three soon had to leave town.  Later Ella would get a younger brother named Lucky.  Laura was picky and wouldnt let Ella be around her younger brother by herself.  Ella would listen to her parents talk about Helena and the name would make Ella shake with fear but she never understood why.

     When Ella was fourteen, the family ended up in Italy.  One day, as she was playing with Lucky in the park, she had a flashback of sitting on a swing while another girl pushed her.  The other girl kept reminding her to be quiet so they wouldnt wake their mother. 

     The trio returned to the United States when Ella was sixteen.  Finding a school for her was hard since she out scored all others in her age group.  A counselor suggested she go to college early.  Ella applied to Harvard but was turned down.  All hopes of getting away was fading for her until she received a letter noting that someone had donated a large amount of money in her name to the college and she was to start soon.

     Ella grew while at college.  The same person that had donated the money that had gotten her in paid her room and tuition.  She would graduate top of her class and go on to medical school at NYU and graduate top of her class there.

     Two weeks after graduating from medical school, she was offered a job at General Hospital in Port Charles.  Before moving, she went to a new coffee house in Manhattan.  While there she would have a run in with another woman.  She felt like she had knew the woman.  She offered to buy Ella a coffee for being so clumsy.  Ella took the offer.  She would later find out that the womans name was Alexis Davis.  The two talked about the law and medicine and went their separate ways.

     Ella would move to Port Charles.  Her first friend there would be a seedy nightclub owner named Sonny.  She would end up becoming his private doctor.  She also became friends with Brenda, Jason, Ned, Lois and many others.

     Her family would join her shortly after she moved back.  They would add another family member, Leslie Lu.  Lu would become very ill with aplastic anemia.  Her only chance would be Nikolas Cassadine, Lauras son by Stravos.  Nik and his uncle Stefan would come to town.  Ella felt like she knew Stefan but was too afraid to pursue it.  Later, Stefans cousin Alexis would come to town.

     Ellie and Alexis would form a friendship.  Ellie encouraged Alexis to pursue Ned while Alexis supported Ellie when her family life started to fall apart.  It was soon discovered that Alexis was actually Natasha Cassadine. 

     Laura found out that her mother was being given a drug against her will.  In order to save her, Laura faked her death.  A few months later, Laura would reappear.  Ellie found out that everyone in the family, except for her and Nik, knew about the plan.  Ellie and Laura had heated arguments that lead Laura to disclose that Ellie was actually Alexandria Cassadine, Natashas younger sister.  She gave Ellie a box full of pictures of her and her sister that she had gotten from the Cassadine Island.

     Ellie didnt know what to believe anymore.  She went to Alexis to find out more information.  Alexis didnt believe her and told her that Helena killed Alexandria.  Ellie and Alexis friendship suffered and soon the two were enemies. 

     Stefan found out about Ellie and demanded that they did some DNA tests.  After a long wait, it was determined that Ellie was in fact Alexandria.  Stefan welcomed his younger sister into the family while Alexis still had problems believing her little sister was alive.
